A continuation of the manga series Shirley.
It began in October 2006 in the Comic Beam Fellows! magazine, the next couple chapters were released in 2010 in the Fellows! magazine.

Based on Light Novel with the same title,Shogyokuden tells the story and the intrigue of the Inner Palace of the Daishin Kingdom. Kan Shougyoku is the former Daishin Kingdom Military General and is asked to become the Empress by the emperor who was formerly her subordinate, Emperor of Daishin Kingdom, Bunrin.

One day the daughter of the household finds a katana in her family's warehouse and when she unsheathes it, the sword starts to shine. The title Sakura Juuyuushi is a play on words of Sanada Sakura Juuyuushi, a story of the group of 10 ninja who assisted the warlord Sanada Yukimura during the Warring States era of Japan.

Everyone in the family line inherited a strange sword, a black katana that is much heavier than it looks and is only usable by people of Nagakado's bloodline. They also passed on a strange star-shaped mark on their chests, and as Nagakado inherits the mark, the mark on his father's chest fades.Soon after Nagakado learns his family's secrets, his father is accused of treason and is taken away to a larger city. This volume contains three stories that take place after the original series. A politician and his wife try to lure Yuki out of retirement to exact their vengeance. A Buddhist nun tries to escape her sisters and bring the true teachings of her sect to the populace with a stolen mandala. She is rescued by Yuki but terribly wounded in the process. A police official tries to get Yuki to assassinate another assassin.
