Hadesu Sensei is no ordinary middle school nurse. In fact, many students believe he is a shinigami. His excessive friendliness and eagerness to win his students' affection does little to offset his terrifying appearance. But, fortunately for this middle school, Hadesu Sensei is an expert at extracting "byouma", demons of disease, from possessed students!

Clay, a child prodigy, was hired at the age of 14 to become a professor to make chimeras, creatures made with a fusion of various materials. However, after he was hired, he was unable to meet the expectations of the company that hired him and was fired. He comes upon an abandoned research facility and creates a human child chimera and names him Muddy. Together, they will go out into the world and find out what Muddy is capable of.

In a remote village, lost in the mountains, mysterious things begin to happen: once a month, the bodies of dead animals are found in the village.
To investigate these incidents, a private detective named Kohachi Inugami, who specializes in occult cases, comes to the village.
On the way, he meets a strange boy who, instead of going to school like all ordinary children, works in the fields every day. The boy’s name is Kabane Kusaka, but in the village he is not liked and is not called otherwise than by the nickname “Dorotabo” – in honor of youkai who live in the mud of the rice field.
While Inugami is investigating, he becomes convinced of his supernatural nature, and also manages to make friends with Dorotabo, who, perhaps, has more than just an inhuman name…
