The story begins to unfold in 900-960 AD, later Zhou dynasty, when Chi Wu is being imprisoned after purposely losing to the emperor. His true goal lies within the prison itself, a clue to the whereabouts of world’s greatest lost treasure-- Qi Lin Treasure. The words of his capture quickly spread to the ear of his senior and a former officer of the imperial court. Tie Zong Heng (Lawless), decides to be re-enlisted to the imperial services just to hunt down Chi Wu.

Warriors of Eden follows the story of Dragon Quest VII with a few new touches. Arus along with Keifer and Maribell discover an ancient temple on Estard Island. In the temple they discover tablets that allows them to travel to continents that were sealed away in the past and are revived in the future. Warriors of Eden now adds an elemental warrior with each elemental spirit, starting off with Arus as the Warrior of Water. Fujiwara also ties Warriors of Eden with the Roto series with a character named Bezul. He's the reincarnation of Emblem of Roto's Quadal, a sage who fought with Roto during the final battle with Zoma. His apprentice, Guren, is the Warrior of Fire. The story follows the ex-thief Kotobuki who travels trying to find an honest job so she can leave behind her theiving ways. She's followed by the genius Raimon who used to chase after her when he was a military commander and now has quit to follow his dream of being with her. Constantly interfering in their dream to forget being a theif and being milita are people seeking "Tsubasa" the legendary device said to be able to grant wishes. It was said to have appeared a long, long time ago, granted everyone's wishes and then disappeared to parts unknown.
