In the year 1589, the Tokugawa clan is looking for a way to destroy Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Hideyoshi depends on the resourceful, intelligent samurai Sanada Yukimura to help him protect his people and foil the plots of his enemies. He also assigns the loud-mouthed, impetuous shinobi Sarutobi Sasuke to work with Sanada -- to their mutual annoyance. Though each disapproves of the other's approach to crime-fighting, they begrudgingly agree to work together for Hideyoshi's sake.

Most normal humans only use 30% of their brains, but a group of people known as "Dokeshi" can use 50 to 60% of their brains, and thus have special abilities. These powers, however, come with a price: the Dokeshi must observe certain restrictions. Ignoring these rules can lead to the loss of something precious from within. In young Shotaro's case, he has to stick to doing a good deed every day! In the central town of Tokyo, he meets a girl named Mana, and together they go on a journey to find Shotaro's childhood friend Emine. Will Shotaro be able to do good daily or will he succumb to laziness on his journey?

He is helped by his friend, Chiaki Yamamoto, who was killed in the helicopter accident, but came back as an angel. According to Chiaki, when the accident happened, both she and Picasso died, but she begged God to save him because of his wonderful talent. As a result, Picasso survived the accident on condition that he saves other people.Basically, when he sees someone in trouble, Picasso's able to draw a picture symbolizing the person's problem and then enter that picture to see that person's hidden feelings, and use that knowledge to help them in the real world.
