This year, the student council has decided to add an exciting new contribution to the school's culture festival; an Idol performance! However, they don't actually have the money to hire any real Idols, so someone's going to have to train up an idol group from their female classmates. Hirano Harufumi is that unlucky someone. He has no interest in Idols at all, but he must put together a performance or risk expulsion from the school for his failure.
Not surprisingly, most high school girls are too embarrassed and self-conscious to dance and sing in front of their classmates in a skimpy outfit. When Harufumi tries to think about who he would like to see as an Idol, his thoughts are drawn to his cute, shy, clumsy childhood friend Aizawa Momoka. A shinbuki is much stronger than normal weapons, so this technique is widely taught. Souma Kenichi is a wandering young man who hasn't learned this technique, but can summon shinbuki himself.While he is hunted by an organization with an unknown reason, he encounters a famous teacher of Miyazaki School, there he finds out he's one of the prodigy children called "Tensaiji'.

The main character (the blond ponytailed guy - yeah, guy) is Aramiya Satoshi, who main ability is shapeshifting into any animal ...though at a few points he has plants growing out of him, so my guess is he can shapeshift into any living thing (including an elephant and a lion) I'm not sure if he was naturally born that way or if he was a biological experiment. Anyway, he's a pretty easygoing guy who just wants to be left alone to enjoy his solitary life in the middle of a junkyard, but apparently some army or another is always after him because of his ability, though he is able to fight off entire tank battalions before breakfast.
