One rainy day, the young woman Natsuki encounters a high school student in the street. Acting on an impulse, she gives the girl her umbrella and walks away. It turns out later that the girl, Michiko, is the younger sister of Natsuki’s sister’s newly-married husband. Even though Michiko has a difficult personality and doesn’t open herself to others easily, she seems to be attracted to Natsuki. Thus begins an unusual friendship between two unlikely characters who need each other more than they first realize…

Shirose Sayo has always been mildly interested in Saeki Aoi, mainly because he's different from the other guys in her class. However, upon graduating middle school, Sayo's image of Saeki is destroyed and she finds he is not the mature young man she thought he was. A year later, they meet again by chance through a group blind date. They clear up their misunderstanding and become friends... but there's one uncomfortable issue. At a time when giant department stores and supermarkets dominated the Japanese retail industry, two businessmen, Toshifumi Suzuki and Hideo Shimizu, discovered a new type of small retail store flourishing in America - the Seven Eleven. Called a "convenience store," it was a concept new to the Japanese. Intrigued by this new idea and convinced that it would also succeed in Japan, the two men put together a project team of fifteen members (all virtual novices to the retail trade) to bring this venture across the Pacific. Kazano Miya, a Novice Witch was taken in by Ono Rinko when she was abused and abandoned by her parents. There are four levels of Witches, ‘Novice’, ‘Advanced’, ‘Professional’ and there’s only one who holds the highest position in Weise Frau. An autobiographical work in which Hideo Azuma tells the story of his inability to cope with the pressures of his job as a mangaka and of his exeriences with alcoholism. The work is split into three sections, each of which details one of Azuma's breakdowns. The first section (Walking At Night) is set in 1989 when Azuma suddenly walked out on both his job and his family and became homeless for the first time. Much of this section is given over to describing the practicalities of eating, sleeping, and killing time whilst homeless. The second section (Walking Around Town) covers a similar set of events in 1992 but this time Azuma managed to find labouring work as a gas pipe layer after a period of living rough. This section also looks back over Azuma's career and describes the pressures he worked under in the 1970s and 80s. The third section (Alcoholic Ward) covers the author's descent into full-blown alcoholism and his experiences of being committed to a hospital rehab programme in 1998.From ANN:
