Vampires marked an especially important stage in the progess of Rock Holmes, one of Tezuka’s longest-running characters, who appeared here for the first time in a charismatic villain role as Makube Rokuro. Vampires is certainly not as mature a work as some of Tezuka’s later social commentaries, but a story of the fight for the right to do evil is certainly a far cry from Astro Boy’s quest to bring about friendship between humans and robots.

He knows little about it, except for the fact that the students are mostly female, so he imagines that his life will soon become a delightful harem-type story. When he gets lost on the way to the isolated school, he finds out there's a lot his grandfather didn't tell him. The school is actually an all-girls school for ninja! At first, the girls think he's an intruder, and he barely escapes with his life! Luckily, the misunderstanding is cleared up, and he finds himself under the protection of the beautiful and deadly student council president, Fuyunagi Rindou. But even now, his life will be anything but uneventful, as he finds himself in the middle of an ongoing conflict between Fuyunagi's student council and another student group, headed by a girl known as Momochi Yayoi.

Sennju, an emissary of the buddha Kannon, appears in the human world to find and protect the reincarnation of the buddha Mirokou. The emissary arrives on Earth just in time to save a young girl from being bullied by some rough looking men. Just who is this girl and will she believe that he's a buddha who was sent by Kannon?* Also included are three oneshots; two of them are called Death Zero and Itako no Anna.• Death Zero -A WWII pilot was shot done and killed, but he still had a promise to keep, that not even death could stop him.• Itako no Anna -Anna is an Itako, a priestess who can call upon spirits, learning the trade with her grandmother. One day, they run into a temple to find the master of the temple quarreling with a sword collector over whether the sword may be removed from the temple or not. Parn, the hotheaded young fighter and the main character of the "Record of Lodoss War", always rushed into actions for the good of Lodoss and pure justice. Therefore, he always took away all the focus from the more passive main character and yet his partner, Deedlit the Elf. As in the name, "Deedlit's Tale", this is totally contributed to this beloved character. Artworks were done by Setsuko Yoneyama. This Manga adapts the novel of the same name into a two book Manga sequence. While reading this Manga, readers will find themselves feeling the heart of a young girl (one hundred and seventy years old is considered to be young for a high elf) and witnessing the romantic story of these two great heroes.
