Warriors of Eden follows the story of Dragon Quest VII with a few new touches. Arus along with Keifer and Maribell discover an ancient temple on Estard Island. In the temple they discover tablets that allows them to travel to continents that were sealed away in the past and are revived in the future. Warriors of Eden now adds an elemental warrior with each elemental spirit, starting off with Arus as the Warrior of Water. Fujiwara also ties Warriors of Eden with the Roto series with a character named Bezul. He's the reincarnation of Emblem of Roto's Quadal, a sage who fought with Roto during the final battle with Zoma. His apprentice, Guren, is the Warrior of Fire. And, on top of all that, Arus' lizard is named Gregory and now speaks.

Enno Ozuno, Master of the Enno temple used the demon guardian spirit Zenki to defeat the demon goddess Karuma. After defeating Karuma, he later sealed Zenki away in a pillar until needed again.Centuries later, his descendant, a school girl named Chiaki Enno (役 小明, Enno Chiaki, or Cherry Night in some dubs) is able to free Zenki, although the demon currently has the form of a brattish demon child. To transform this extremely defiant demon into the form that made him useful by her ancestor, she uses a bracelet that appeared on her wrist when servants of Karuma broke the seal that imprisoned a seed of Karuma. Zenki appears because the seeds of Karuma (which look like eyeballs) start appearing and turning people into monsters and Zenki needed again to eradicate this menace.

Koto, though, a Japanese girl, didn't care if the people she meets have almond shaped eyes or not, or if they wear a kimono or a western dress. Actually, she is fascinated by this foreign way of life that brings so many innovations into Japan. More than anything else, it's the clothing that seems to grab her attention, as she wants to become a tailor and create dresses for women of every culture.Unfortunately though, she's a woman, so she knows her dream will end as soon as she gets married. She will have to start acting like a noble and a respectable woman would. In fact, she is betrothed to Masaomi Kidoin, the second born of one of the most important and oldest families of Japan. The day she's told she will marry Masaomi, Koto attends a ball at the British Embassy and meets Sagitto, a half English and half Indian spy that captures her imagination and heart. But of course, I choose what anyone else would, The Island of Death. But what I didn’t except, was it to be dangerous. With treacherous foreign pavilions, silent villages, a gloomy looking church… Ugh, just out with it already!
