The enormous seed ship, Sidonia, travels through space while propogating and producing humans. Brought up in the lowest decks of Sidonia, a young man, Tanikaze Nagate, becomes a Guardian trainee, and is authorised to pilot the outdated but historically renowned Tsugumori.
